Reflections on Bible Verses

Notes on source ...

Several years ago, I joined a group where each week we are given a bible verse to reflect on during the week, and we then share our personal response to the verse when we next meet, before a time of prayer. I value those evenings because each of our responses are personal, so they are entirely different, and I am given new perspectives outside of my experience.

In the hope that my personal reflections on those verses may be of value in a similar way to you, I have presented them here.

Contributions welcome ...

My aim in setting up this page was to share personal reflections on bible verses as a help to people as they set out on their journey of faith, and explore bible readings.

Your comments, challenging (but sincere) questions, and suggestions for other verses, are all welcome.

Also welcome are your personal reflections on these verses where they support this aim — brief reflections can be listed in the comments on a verse, while more lengthy reflections will be shown on a separate page (use the contact form at this stage, listing the relevant verse and date, your screen name and email address, and attach any relevant files).

Due to the problems of spam and viral attacks on websites, I will review comments and contributions before they appear on the site.

Guidance for contributions:

  • Keep it personal (not copied from other sources)
  • A heartfelt response to the verse (not promoting particular doctrines or ideology)
  • Guided by the Holy Spirit (not promoting philosophies built on human logic, they tend to discourage or mislead).

As with the small group I attend, we are blessed by a variety of perspectives.

My aim in setting up this page was to share personal reflections on bible verses as a help to people as they set out on their journey of faith, and explore bible readings.
Comments, challenging (but sincere) questions, and suggestions for other verses not listed here, are all welcome.
Also welcome are your personal reflections on these verses where they are in line with this aim — brief reflections can be listed in the comments on a verse, while more lengthy reflections will be shown on a separate page with a link from the main page for that verse, and listed under the contributor’s name. Use the contact form to send these, listing the relevant verse and date, your screen name and email address, and attaching any relevant files.
Due to the problems of spam and viral attacks on websites, I will review comments and contributions before they appear on the site.
The type of contributions which would not support this aim are those copied from other sources (keep it personal), those promoting a particular doctrine or ideology (keep it to a heartfelt response to the verse), or promoting concepts built on human logic that discourage us on our journey (unfortunately there is no shortage of these).

As with the small group I attend, we are blessed by a variety of perspectives.
