\u201cEveryone who is called by My name,<\/em>
Whom I have created for My glory;<\/em>
I have formed him, yes, I have made him<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Everyone who is called by my name<\/h3>\n

These verses in Isaiah vary in their application between the people of Judah who were to go into exile, all the tribes of Israel, and the whole of mankind.
In the preceding verses, 43:1 refers to the people of Israel, and verse 43:6 to the dispersed tribes of Israel and also Judah in exile.
But verse 43:7 applies far more widely, to all people who are called by the name of their creator, Jesus Christ. This is in line with the preceding chapter, where the suffering servant would be a \u201clight for the gentiles\u201d (42:6), and later in 49:6, \u201cthat my salvation may reach the ends of the earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whom I have created for My glory<\/h3>\n

God created mankind in His image, so we were intended to reflect the glory of God, but that image was tarnished by man\u2019s choice of sin which brought suffering and death into this world.
So God\u2019s salvation of mankind through His suffering servant, Jesus, will not only restore us as righteous before Him, but it will be to His glory.
Verse 48:11, reads, \u201cFor my own sake, for my own sake, I do this, How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Although we all have days when it may be hard to believe, we have the wonderful promise (e.g. Ephesians 4:24) that for those who receive Jesus\u2019 free gift of salvation and trust their lives to Him, God is active in their lives, and as His Spirit lives in them, they begin to reflect His glory as God acts through them.<\/p>\n

That fits with an old negro saying I read long ago, the words went something like;<\/p>\n

\u201cI know I\u2019m not what I ought to be,
But I\u2019m thankful I\u2019m not what I used to be,
