{"id":26852,"date":"2022-01-02T10:00:24","date_gmt":"2022-01-01T23:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/questionsandbelief.org\/?p=26852"},"modified":"2024-02-25T22:51:36","modified_gmt":"2024-02-25T12:21:36","slug":"after-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/questionsandbelief.org\/sw\/after-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"Baada ya Krismasi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.24.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; da_disable_devices=&#8221;off|off|off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; da_is_popup=&#8221;off&#8221; da_exit_intent=&#8221;off&#8221; da_has_close=&#8221;on&#8221; da_alt_close=&#8221;off&#8221; da_dark_close=&#8221;off&#8221; da_not_modal=&#8221;on&#8221; da_is_singular=&#8221;off&#8221; da_with_loader=&#8221;off&#8221; da_has_shadow=&#8221;on&#8221;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.24.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.24.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.24.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;20px&#8221; text_font_size_tablet=&#8221;18px&#8221; text_font_size_phone=&#8221;16px&#8221; text_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|phone&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>In the two weeks before Christmas, I learnt of two people who had died as a result of work accidents.<br \/>It was a sobering reminder as we celebrate Christmas, that Jesus came into a world of pain and suffering, and that suffering is still with us.<\/p>\n<p>In Genesis chapter 3 we learn that the cause of human suffering and death is our estrangement from God, which is the result of our human choice of sin and rebellion against God.<br \/>While it was first described in Genesis, we see it repeated in every generation since then, and in the world around us now.<\/p>\n<p>To those who refuse to recognize our sinful human condition, and our need to be saved from sin, Christmas tends to be a superficial enjoyment of worldly comforts or luxuries, and human suffering tends to be ignored.<br \/>So, it can be a time when the lonely and ailing feel isolated and forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>But Jesus said in Matthew 5:3-4, \u201cBlessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.\u00a0 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.\u201d<br \/>And even while we face the reality of human pain and suffering, we can celebrate Christmas with a deep and unshakeable joy, and also every week as we celebrate Communion here, for Jesus has healed the cause of our pain and suffering.<br \/>Sickness and death are still with us, but they do not have the final say.<br \/>For in his victory on the cross, Jesus has defeated the power of sin, and its resulting suffering and death, over us.<\/p>\n<p>On the cross, Jesus, who was without sin, took on himself the penalty of death for our sin, that we may be forgiven and judged as righteous in God\u2019s sight.<br \/>Through Jesus we are restored to a right relationship with God, as his children.<\/p>\n<p>This is a free and undeserved gift from God, received when we repent and turn to Jesus, and place our faith in him.<\/p>\n<p>And the new life he gives to us, as he lives in us through his Holy Spirit, will never end.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the two weeks before Christmas, I learnt of two people who had died as a result of work accidents.It was a sobering reminder as we celebrate Christmas, that Jesus came into a world of pain and suffering, and that suffering is still with us.
