What does the bible say about its authority?<\/p>\n

You may rightly question whether it is logically sound to refer to the bible to justify whether the bible is to be used as the ultimate source of authority for belief.<\/p>\n

It cannot be justified in that way at the start of your journey.<\/p>\n

But as you read the bible, and are given understanding and insight that no other source can give, you may come to accept these verses about the authority of the bible as confirming this approach.<\/p>\n

(i) Any group will want to justify the basis for their beliefs, so we may choose to be cautious with these claims;<\/p>\n

(ii) But consider the possibility that our world, and your life, is not a random accident of matter, but is the creation of a perfectly good and almighty being, whose nature is beyond our imagination.\u00a0 Would not the creator want to reveal himself and guide us, using methods appropriate in ancient times, but with a message that is timeless?<\/p>\n
