Useful Links and References:

Since starting to build this website, I have been very pleased to find a variety of sources of Christian reflection, discussion, and references on YouTube.

These generally go into much greater detail than I have included on this site, but they may be helpful as you to dig deeper into questions of faith, and questions about problems with the modern church.

If you have other links you would like to share, please suggest them in the comments below.

I have found many YouTube channels to be divisive rather than constructive, so I have omitted many sites. While they may also have some interesting information, I found those that tend to be dogmatic in detail tend to miss the overall principles.

Tough Questions – Christianity Explored Ministries

info . . .

The Christianity Explored Ministries website has a section on “tough questions”, and those questions may be similar to the questions forum on this site. While their content is mainly concerned with the excellent responses given by experts such as Prof. John Lennox, the approach I aim to use here is to amplify those difficult questions, and then seek personal answers from the bible. Both approaches have merit, so that site may also be useful in your journey.

Worshiptainment

info . . .

Matthew Everhard has produced a series of YouTube videos warning about this trend, and a book entitled, “Worshiptainment; The Modern Church’s Golden Calf”.

An early pioneer of the trend was Robert Schuller, with his Crystal Cathedral and the Hour of Power television broadcast, but this led to some bizarre examples which Matthew shows in those videos. I think these examples may have some value when used as outreach to catch people’s attention, but when used as worship they may be more of a barrier to hearing the truth.

Amongst the many self-help and relationship videos on YouTube from people with a wide variety of views, Taylor Alesia has presented some with a Christian perspective in a style to appeal to young people.

John Lennox and Richard Dawkins discuss the existence of God: YouTube

info . . .

Richard Dawkins is well known for his promotion of atheism, but John Lennox is not so famous.  He is retired as a Professor of  Mathematics at Oxford University, a bioethicist, and Christian apologist, and has written many books on religion, ethics, and the relationship between science and God. Videos of his talks are located in various sites on YouTube, and can be found by searching for his name.

Kent Hovind – Why use the King James Version: YouTube

info . . .

Regardless of whether Ken’s presentation style appeals to you, the content of his discussion about the confusing array of modern bible versions is worth hearing. And his case is confirmed by William Barclay’s note to his commentary on John (pp 290 – 292 of volume 2, 1975) concerning the omission from “early manuscripts” of John 7:53 -8:11 on the woman taken in adultery.
